SHIATSU

Shiatsu ("Shi": fingers; "atsu": pressure) is an Art for health that is based on a set of models belonging to the Japanese and Chinese traditions, which consider the human being from a holistic point of view (global, integrated) in its corporeal, mental and spiritual dimension.
It is practiced by the operator (“Shiatsuka”) by means of gradual, maintained and constant pressures brought with the palms, thumbs, elbows and knees on the person's body, promoting energy rebalancing.

The conception of an energetic structure of the human being has been codified by Traditional Chinese Medicine and has its raison d'être in energy as a unitary basic principle of all natural phenomena, including the human being.
The practice of Shiatsu favors the free circulation of energy by acting on specific paths (meridians), points and areas of the body; stimulating the vital energy of the organism, it promotes and sustains its own capacity for homeostasis.

The operator also makes use of stretching and mobilization techniques and complementary techniques such as moxibustion and cupping.
The treatment takes place on the ground on a futon (Japanese mattress) and lasts about an hour, after an energy assessment.
