NATURAL LANDSCAPES (Italy-Mexico) by Giovanni Zappulla
It is the new creation of the L'Espace Choreographic Center in collaboration with MIM arte Escenico. The company has been pursuing for years the creation of the "Natural Movement Dance" method, created and derived from a detailed study of the pioneering work that Isadora Duncan had begun in the late 19th century; offering the body the possibility of fulfilling its natural history.

Through this artistic residency, we try to promote the processes of creation and cultural exchange between the two companies, based on the differences and similarities that characterize highlighting both nations. This work aims to be a bridge that will lead us towards the diversification of the spaces of representation of our creative work together, represents growth as independent artists and a wonderful opportunity to build paths of artistic enrichment of international level. It is an interdisciplinary mobility and artistic collaboration project that aims to enable the decentralization of artistic work nationally and internationally, create a new audience and increase the impact for both Italian and Mexican art. NL relates the natural movement dance with the movement of nature, making a journey through the flow of the seasons. The theme of the seasons has been used extensively in Western music and dance (think of Vivaldi, Tchaikovsky, Glazunov, for example); the poetics of the show evolved through a pentacle vision of the movements, linked to the partition of the Chinese calendar. Five seasons for five movements: metal (autumn), Water (winter), wood (spring), Fire (summer), Earth (late summer). The structure of the five seasons welcomes the dancers supporting their action and their emotional universe. NL is not a narrative show, rather it is pure sentiment that must be lived and experienced together: dancers, musician and audience.
